———I wish I owned No Ordinary Family, then I could try to continue the story somehow after the series got canceled. But I don't, so I can't, I'll get over it.

Personality:

Personality: Daphne is a typical teenage girl. Wily, defiant, manipulative but tempered by compassion, concern, and insecurity. The standard dynamic of trying to be yourself without knowing who you are ...with superpowers!

When reason overcomes desire, the compassionate side worries and cares about her family, friends, and even strangers if she thinks she can help. If you have the power to save people, why wouldn’t you? Her first thought is how could she live with herself knowing she could do more. She watches her father use his powers to save people, every night, and she gets it even if she doesn’t like it. She wants to do the same thing when she can, when her gifts are helpful.

Of course, she’s a teenager, they don’t have flawless track records on choices. She abuses her powers and her brother's for various selfish things, boys and getting out of trouble being most of it. If she gets too focused on something she wants, she misses things she should see. Mostly when she crosses the moral line to being a selfish brat. Worse still, a teenager who sometimes is selfish with the power to command the minds of others.

She also carries all the standard fears and insecurities of a young woman. Both the mundane fears of popular girls and being laughed at in school. And the terrors caused by having a father fighting supervillains and being found out as a freak. While she's pretty enough she's not able to stack up to the cheerleaders, she lacks the confidence to stand up to her peers. Adults are easier to defy, she worries less of the social status in that regard.

Another minor stumbling block, memory gaps. They don't bother her too much, she's filled in a lot of gaps with her family. The little things nag at her time to time. What happened to her memories, what happened when her family wasn't around? You don't just lose three months of your life. Of course, you don't gain telepathy from a plane crash either. She has enough teenage drama in her life to ignore this most days, but nights it sneaks back to her thoughts.

She misses having normal problems.

Abilities and Possessions:

Abilities: Daphne is a telepath, weak but growing stronger every day. Reading minds is the tip of this very deep iceberg. The easiest power is simply hearing thoughts, she can lead their thoughts with statements. She can't dig around in the minds of others, nothing more than the surface thoughts. The things people don't say. The active range for being able to hear thoughts is around 15-18 feet, she’s not a very powerful receiver in that regard.

If she wants more than the things unheard, she can get images through touch. Like with hearing, the images are surface thoughts. What a person is thinking about when she touches them. Memories as they remember them, unabridged provided the target isn't suffering from damaged or broken memories. It does however bypass any mental defenses brought about by being telepathic, as she’s able to read The Watcher’s thoughts when he held her hand.

The most devastating of her abilities is pushing, where she puts a thought into the surface of a person's mind. She has to say the command aloud, and the target repeats the command before acting on it. Without any understanding of how this thought is different from any of their own. Pushing is weaker on beings with higher cognitive function. If Daphne pushes hard enough, a command causes physical pain when it can’t be carried out. Such as asking for information the target doesn’t know, or something the person doesn’t know how to do. This has a similar range to reading minds.

Erasing memories is a special form of pushing, more invasive and complicated than just commanding. If you don’t work it just right you might erase more than you wanted to, like Daphne taking every memory of her boyfriend dating her, instead of just the memories of her abilities. Physical contact helps control the erasure, it’s possible it could help bypass mental defenses.

Of course, overall she can’t spread her focus over multiple targets, and her active range is limited compared to even the tamest of Marvel telepaths. So to your everyday human Daphne’s powers are an incredible skill, and to proper Comic Book telepaths it’s all a cute trick.

———Programmed Possession: Grandpa Allan's Car - An old, but well cared for, blue convertible. Her grandfather’s prized possession before he lost it to Daphne’s brother in a game of pool. In turn it became Daphne’s because her brother is 14 and someone should drive it till he’s old enough.

I’m honestly not really a car guy so other than guessing at being a 1970-80s model car, I can’t really tell company or anything else like that. It doesn’t have any mods or special anything to it, just a car... possibly with maps to a city that doesn’t really exist in California.
